Yacapaca for Teachers
Assessments are ready for you, you can add or create your own, is really a great tool!
The days of taking tests with pencils and paper are so dated. Yacapaca is what we wish we had in schools, if only the technology had existed- a virtual arena that allows students to take tests, submit assignments, and receive grades, and for teachers to grade and view student statistics. Teachers also have the control to create their own quizzes and assignments. The program focuses on positive reinforcement and learning (for example, when a student answers a question incorrectly, the program explains what the incorrect selection is). Finally, Yacapaca is unequivocally free, for both teachers and students.

Jesus!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tool! In addition to being a useful site to provide drill and practice opportunities and formative assessment opportunities, I love the graphical interface. Our Spanish teacher was asking just last week if I knew of any way to cut down on the paperwork associated with formative quizzes. In part she wanted to avoid the colds and flu bugs being transmitted through the papers. But additionally, she found that her students weren't doing the practice work because she wasn't grading it. So she starting grading the practice work, but that caused students who took longer to catch on to start falling grade-wise. She never really wanted to grade practice work, and now with your site she won't have to! Here at our school, students don't always have access to computers in the classroom. But as this is a Web 2.0 tool, they can use it at home or at the public library (if they don't have a computer at home). Great find!!!
